I read in some earlier correspondence that xxe2.0 will incorporate improved
support for external entity references so that they remain as entity
references after an editing session (instead of being expanded as at
present). Does this mean
(a) that the entities are not expanded and parsed at all during the
editing session
(b) that the entities are expanded and parsed, but are replaced with
entity references again when the file is saved.
My current use of XXE depends upon external entities being expanded.
Alternative (b) would be a major improvement for me, but alternative (a)
would be something of a disaster. So if (a) is what you are planning, can I
register a wish that the current behaviour is retained as an option?
Incidentally, if the answer is (b), what happens if you edit the contents of
the entity?
