* XXE can run anywhere (the proper version of) Java[tm] can run. It is Java[tm] which crashes on your system, not XXE. Hence your problem is between the Java runtime you have installed and your version of Unbuntu. * xxe-std-3_5_2, which was released on February 19, 2007, is no longer supported by XMLmind. Note that even if you manage to start Java 1.6.0_10 on your system (e.g. try the Java demos), I suspect that you'll have other problems. In principle, such an old version works best with Java 1.4 or Java 1.5. > ~$ java -version > java version "1.6.0_10" > Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_10-b33) > Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 11.0-b15, mixed mode)
