Better still! thank you. It would also apply presumably when creating new elements. A collapse/expand whole document command would (for me) avoid having to implement the css option at all. Rarticularly when you implement the dynamic templates element on the user wish list! which would allow specification of collapsed state in the template rather than the css. Philip
