XMLmind XML Editor not being intuitive, you simply cannot *guess* how it
works.

You'll learn in the tutorial that, in order to add a new chapter after
an existing one, you need:
[1] to select the existing chapter (for example, using the node path bar);
[2] to use command *Insert* *After* (Ctrl-J);
[3] to select "chapter" from the Element list.

Note that this way of inserting elements applies to any kind of element,
whatever the document type.
