I've installed XMLMind XML editor on my macbook. It seems to working great, except for 1 thing. I need to edit information within the document I'm working in, and I need to search for specific items before I can edit them. However, there seems to be some items it's not allowing me to search for. I've attached a screenshot of what I need to search for (there's about 1000 different ones in my document). It's the ID no. "000828d8-4dbc-4254-b61f-68c3d48660fa" which is right at the top of the screenshot. Is there a reason why it won't pick up the numbers within this tag?
Yes. See below.
I've never worked on XML editors before, so I'm not sure if there's something I should be doing to allow it to search for even a portion of this ID no.
The "Search" tool implements a plain text search/replace facility, which is useful only when you search a substring in the ``textual body'' of an XML element (normally, this is the most common case).
In the case you describe, you seem to search any element having an ID attribute containing "000828d8-4dbc-4254-b61f-68c3d48660fa". In such case, you need to use the "Search|Find Element" menu item (shortcut: "Esc f", that is, press "Escape", release "Escape" then press "f")
Please fill the dialog box as shown in the attached screenshot then click OK. Doing this will select the element having specified ID.
