Thanks Hussein for this feedback.
Do you think the fix will make it into 5.5?

we are having issues using the MathML menus (right tab) in order

This happens in Windows only (7 or 8) but works on Linux.
Chrome or Firefox, same behavior. Latest java (7.11).
How to reproduce:
- open xxe as an applet on a browser in Windows 7
- insert an equation
- click inside it, and open the math editor (right tab)
- click on a formula
- the submenu with all options for that formula shows and
immediately
closes, it is not possible to click on it.
On windows 8, the submenu does not appear at all.

Which version of XXE are you using? I knew
this bug and I thought it has been fixed.

We use XXE 5.4.0 as an applet.

Then may be this bug is fixed in XXE
5.4.1. (I'm sorry but I won't check this assertion for you.)
After looking at the code, the bug that has been fixed was related
to interactively resizing a Math palette.
I've managed to reproduce this issue on Windows XP/IE/Java 1.7.10
using XXE v5.5 (to be released next week).
It seems that we have found a way to solve this issue: added a
workaround for spurious WindowsLostFocus events received when XXE
runs as an applet on Windows. However, the workaround we have
found needs more testing in order to be part of the next release.
