Hi, Hussein:

Yes, that solved it. The one parameter I was missing was "navig.graphics.extension=.png"

Thanks for your help--and for adding your suggested fix to a future release.

Best regards,
Pierce

In order to add navigation icons to the headers and footers of the generated WebHelp pages, you must specify all the following XSLT stylesheet parameters:

suppress.navigation=0
navig.graphics=1
navig.graphics.extension=.png

See attached screenshot #1.

Reference:

* http://docbook.sourceforge.net/release/xsl/current/doc/html/suppress.navigation.html

* http://docbook.sourceforge.net/release/xsl/current/doc/html/navig.graphics.html

* http://docbook.sourceforge.net/release/xsl/current/doc/html/navig.graphics.extension.html

Out of the box, there is no way to use the .gif navigation icons and the stock .png icons just look like their plain text counterparts. See attached screenshot #2.

For now, the simplest is to replace:

home.png, next.png, prev.png, up.png

in <XXE_install_dir>/addon/config/docbook/xsl/images/ and in <XXE_install_di>r/addon/config/docbook5/xsl/images/ by nice icons of your own.

We did that in the stock distribution for admonition icons and we'll also do that for navigation icons in the next release of XXE.

We'll also make navig.graphics.extension=.png the default in the next release of XXE. The default value being now navig.graphics.extension=.gif. The bug is that .gif and .tif icons are no longer bundled with XXE; only .png and .svg icons are.

I noticed that the files themselves are .png, but the generated URL is

Hi,

Does anyone have any idea why the navigation .png files (next, prev, home, etc.) might be missing in my webhelp output? Here's a screenshot
illustrating the problem: http://take.ms/7V7NP

I generated the help using XMLMind XML Editor 7.2.0. Permissions on my file server seem to be OK. I assume there's a configuration parameter
I failed to set perhaps?
