I am doing some work on the cvs trunk right now, don't use it, please. "XMLSEC_1_2_X_BRANCH" branch is stable and has all the relevant patches.
Thanks for reporting problems with libxml2 2.6.x! I am still using 2.5.x version shipped with Fedora. I'll check it out and see what is wrong.
