The W3C XML Security working group has published updated working drafts of XML
SIgnature 1.1 and XML Encryption 1.1 and is soliciting comments through 8
November [1].

XML Signature 1.1: http://www.w3.org/TR/2012/WD-xmldsig-core1-20121018/

XML Encryption 1.1: http://www.w3.org/TR/2012/WD-xmlenc-core1-20121018/

The documents were published again as Last Call drafts since some features were
removed due to lack of interop testing and some new algorithms were added.
Details are in the status section of each document.

The intent is to progress these documents to recommendation. To clarify the
changes since the last recommendation publications, the working group has
produced two W3C Notes summarizing the changes:

"Functional Explanation of Changes in XML Signature 1.1" :
http://www.w3.org/TR/2012/NOTE-xmldsig-core1-explain-20121018/

"Functional Explanation of Changes in XML Encryption 1.1" :
http://www.w3.org/TR/2012/NOTE-xmlenc-core1-explain-20121018/

Please share any comment on the public XML Security WG list as noted in the
documents.

Thanks

regards, Frederick
