I think it isn't safe to get rid of Xalloc and friends in client libraries. As I understand it, they're still relevant on Windows because of some kind of DLL crap. (XCB doesn't offer any of those wrappers and the Windows folks seem to have become resigned to that fact, but that doesn't mean we can break existing libraries.) I think it's OK to remove those in the server because it isn't a library, and so can't be used with more than one libc at a time anyway.
