The never updated wiki states 0.18.1 with a pile of weird alternatives. The real life expectations is that Requires.private is expected to work. A recent patch to update xserver pc file was thoroughly reviewed. http://wiki.x.org/wiki/ModularDevelopersGuide#RequiredTools The version 0.22 is in the time frame of Atoconf 2.60 and Automake 1.10, so it would perhaps be a good time to line-up pkg-config minimum requirements as well. http://pkgconfig.freedesktop.org/releases/ I am out of context here, but if Requires.private is useless, all it means is that the build will go on and break somewhere else if a dependency is missing. If no dependenciy is missing, no problems, I assume.
