Add the following options to the device section of your xorg.conf to force tv-out on: Option "ForceTVOut" "true" Option "TVStandard" "pal" Or add this option to try to enable TV dac load detection: Option "TVDACLoadDetect" "true" It's disabled by default as it's not reliable in all cases.
