It's detecting both DVI-0 and HDMI-0 as attached since they share a gpio for ddc. You should be able to force HDMI off in order to change the mode on DVI: xrandr --output HDMI-0 --off xrandr --output DVI-0 --mode 1280x1024 Can you attach your video bios?
