So if you can disable the Panel in BIOS, it's a much better option than adding NoPanel in xorg.conf manually. It accomplishes the same as setting NoPanel in xorg.conf but without ever having to manually edit the configuration. This is highly desirable on X releases since 1.5, since they are designed to self-configure upon startup by creating a clean xorg.conf for you.
