xrlmark.sh, as you saw, is dog simple. Run test_xrl_receiver/sender 
pairs with a finder, log to a tmpfile, awk the numbers, and cook 
comparison with ministat.

A GNU makefile should be really easy to roll. I've prodded the 
appropriate folk about it, it is code they want to share.

Dealing with RPATH is a dog. $ORIGIN support didn't get merged to 
FreeBSD 7, that would be the real answer.

chrpath or elfsh may be a temporary answer.  Pleasantly surprised that 
chrpath compiled out of the box...
