Dear Julia, Using shorten_menu_items for this purpose is not the right way to do it (at least in my opinion). Instead, look at the line that says
interface_fullscreen=drawarea main_toolbar pen_toolbar and change what you want to display in the fullscreen mode. If you really want nothing there at all, change this to interface_fullscreen=drawarea Then use F11 to toggle in/out of fullscreen mode.
