Hi Daniel, I'm running Fedora 17, under which the latest glade2 package (glade2-2.12.2-11.fc17.x86_64) does not have this problem. If I really want the user interface, I run glade-2 xournal.glade, and apart from a few choice warnings, it loads ok. Most likely, for small incremental modifications to the user interface rather than substantial changes, I edit the .glade file by hand and regenerate the code using: glade-2 -w xournal.glade
I understand that the gtk3 set of tools requires doing the interface by hand or upgrading to gtk-builder; I personally don't think it's urgent to upgrade xournal to gtk3.
