Hi,
The application that I am working on needs to be able to initiate a change
that will only take effect when X is restarted. The user will launch an
application, or script, that will make the configuration change and then
terminate X, with X restarting to apply the configuration change.
We have one mechanism that will work, but it is not elegant.
So I need to work out a simple way to have X restart once it has
terminated, without any additional interaction from the user. Ideally this
should be able to run from within X. The first two parts, changing the
configuration and then Killing X, are easy.
Could someone point me to some documentation that would offer some
suggestions on the best way to accomplish this task?
