See

http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/xinerama/xinerama/xc/doc/XineramaSpec.txt?rev=1.1&content-type=text/vnd.viewcvs-markup

The required functionality should be very very simple to add: it's only
four requests.

Once done, then

http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/docs/HOWTO/other-formats/html_single/Xinerama-HOWTO.html#s8
indicates that (at least) the Enlightenment and Sawfish window managers
will behave nicely, and
 http://www.mandrake.net/displaynews.cgi?april4.2000
indicates that gtk+ should be well-behaved. This should be enough for the
GNOME environment; and
 http://www.kde.org/announcements/changelog2_1to2_2.html
indicates that KDE will behave nicely too.
