I have two configurations running 4.1.0 on a Matrox Millenium under RedHat Linux, both
with 2.4.x kernels.
On the RedHat 6.1 system, which is running XFree86 binaries downloaded from
xfree86.org, the DDC Monitor info
recognizes the display with no problems.

(II) MGA(0): DDC Monitor info: 0x857e538
(II) MGA(0): Manufacturer: VSC Model: 3651 Serial#: 11820

on the other system, which is running the 7.1.94 (roswell beta 2) version which has
binaries created by RedHat,
all I see in this section is:

(II) MGA(0): DDC Monitor info: (nil)
(II) MGA(0): end of DDC Monitor info

And the display resolution is 800x600.

XF86Config is the same in both cases.

I'd appreciate any pointers on how I could go about debugging this problem
