The monitor I'm trying to run X on, a Dell 828L, drops into standby mode when I try to start X at 800x600 or 640x480. It will come up at 1024x768, but badly out of sync. I've had no problems with other monitors on this card (ATI Rage Fury Pro). Could it be a DPMS issue? or is X ignoring my mode lines and defaulting to VESA modes my monitor can't support? I've found one other reference to this happening with this specific monitor (http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ms g01602.html), but no solution was posted. Specs from Dell are available at http://docs.us.dell.com/docs/monitors/84766/. If anyone has any ideas, they'd be greatly appreciated. Even if you could just tell me who actually made the monitor, that would of great help. Thanks!
