[Xpert]What does 'IO error 54' mean?

I am getting the following error:

XIO:  fatal IO error 54 (Connection reset by peer) on X server
"enoch:0.0" after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events
remaining.


Can anyone tell me what error 54 means, or where I can look up error
numbers?

The client machine is running FreeBSD 4.3-STABLE / xfree86 4.0.3. The
server is XWin32 running on Windows 2000.
