you don't need it anymore. I run X 4.1.0 +xinerama across 3 heads without it.
as I understand it, the matrox drivers are getting folded into the
main X code, and apparently 2nd head support is possible through the builtin
HAL setup routines in X 4.1
unfortunately, DRI still doesn't work very well. :( I get hangs after a
couple of minutes of Quake3 or Rune, with DRI enabled. :(
