This did several things for me it made my Windowised monitor not report only
valid M$Windows modes but also let me use 1280X1024 as my desktop size.  The
down side was that now I should manually set my DPI settings.  I have not done
this, is that bad? why/why not?  I also want to know If my monitor can be MADE
to do higher modes, acording to the docs 1280X1024 is the max.  I also do not
know if I'm using the max refresh rate.
