I have no problems using the NVIDIA driver for secondary cards.
You may need to put:
Option "UseInt10Module" "1"
in the Section "Device" of the head that is not working, however.
The NVIDIA driver has some difficulty posting secondary cards on
some motherboards so that option will use the XFree86 helper
function.
