I can't remember if I've complained about this here or not. I'm sorry if this is a repost. I can't seem to get my IBM Thinkpad to drive an external monitor. I have an A22m 2628-STU. XFree86 reports it has an ATI Rage 128 Mobility LF rev 2. Nothing I've tried (multiple monitors at multiple resolutions) has gotten an external monitor to work. I _can_ get the monitor to work in console mode; however, when I switch to X the monitor's screen goes black. When I switch back to the LCD the image is all garbled like it's using a bad modeline. In all cases I'm relying on the internal modeline specifications of the monitor. I haven't tried crafting my own modelines (not familiar enough with doing that).
I'm running debian/woody with Linux kernel 2.4.17 and XFree86 4.1.0.1. -- (__) Doug Alcorn (mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.lathi.net) oo / PGP 02B3 1E26 BCF2 9AAF 93F1 61D7 450C B264 3E63 D543 |_/ If you're a capitalist and you have the best goods and they're free, you don't have to proselytize, you just have to wait. _______________________________________________ Xpert mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xpert
