I totaly agree w/ X being better than MSWindows. It took four reboots in windows to get my voodoo3 working when in linux it was only a matter of editing my config file. Hell, I even rebuilt my kernel to give tdfx module support.
The big thing to me is trying to come up w/ a way to make font managment easier. I currently have to su to root in order to copy fonts over and run ttmkfdir as well as mkfontdir and then restart X. I would love to be able to have an easier way to do this. It would also be great to have a better printing tools for X. I have an old declaser 5100 and using it w/ cups works pretty good, but trying to get all the functionality out of it has been an uphill battle. not to mention the canon clc 700 and epson 8000 network printers that I have at my office. thanks again for the bandwidth and u'r response. jared <!--start snipit > X isn't Linux's problem on the desktop.
