Hi all,...

...first of all, being new to the list, just wanted to say Hello to anyone
out there -
I'm Kristian. :)

Secondly, I am having one question by now: In my machine (PII-350, 192 meg
RAM, Slackware Linux 8 w/ XFree86 4.2.0), by now there is an Elsa Erazor III

LT graphics board (with an NVidia TNT2 M64 chipset on it, 32 meg RAM), and,
still packaged and waiting to be integrated into my machine, here is an ATI
Radeon VE based graphics board (64 meg SDRAM, dual-head, tv-out). The
system by now is pretty fast when it comes to OpenGL - and/or 3D-accelerated

graphics thanks to the nvidia.com - drivers, so I am thinking right now:
Would it
make sense to replace the TNT2M64 with the Radeon VE, given that I don't
need any of the sophisticated features of the Radeon board (tv-out is same
as
uninteresting to me as dual-head CRT-out), but that I want to have a good
performance mostly in 2D - graphics, but sometimes also in the field of
OpenGL
and, quite often, while watching DVDs?

Possibly this question might sound a little stupid, but I guess in the end
it comes
down to "which board is better in the machine I am having - a TNT2M64 or the

Radeon VE"? Hope anyone can give me a hint on that, anyhow. :)

Cheers, have a nice sunday wherever you are...
Kris
