Look in /var/log/XFree86.0.log for a line with something like:
Supported additional Video Mode:
If you find such a line, the following lines will give the numbers
which the monitor recommends for the modeline.
If you can decode the mime attachment,

includes code for a program which generates modelines according to
the VESA GTF standard.
