Running an IBM A30p , i830MP, ATI Radeon Mobility-M6 32MB. OS : RH 7.2 + assorted RawHides (kernel 2.4.18-0.12, XFree 4.2.0-6.45). 1. I am not exactly experiencing lockups, however there is heavy and rapid screen blanking/flashing when switching between X, VT's, and/or full screen VMware DGA2 sessions. - This is temporarily solved by using the energy-saving LCD-panel switch-off by means of the keyboard shorcut (Fn-F3), until the next VT switch. 2. I notice heavy screen corruption in the mouse pointer vicinity when running VMware 3.x (Win2K guest) in full-screen, which implements DGA 2.0. - This occurs with stock XFree86 4.2.0, RedHat 4.2.0-6.45 rpms, and 4.2.99.x CVS (20020329) ; - This behaviour does *not* occur when using the GATOS ati.2 4.2.0 CVS drivers (http://gatos.sourceforge.net). 3. Running a 1280x1024 (or lower) RTCW ("Return to Castle Wolfenstein") OpenGL/Mesa session in a native 1600x1200 X-resolution relocates the application to the lower left of the screen instead of using the screen expansion feature.
