Oh, "Mesa GLX Indirect" would not yield you any true hardware accell, they
do it software.  Which operating system and X version do you use?

It will also help a lot if you cat(1) us your /var/log/XFree86.0.log and
your X server configuration file (XF86Config or X86Config-4, be sure to
provide the right one, grep(1) for "Using config file" in
/var/log/XFree86.0.log).

I believe you'll need Glide for 3dfx cards, though I'd never tried putting
those bits together myself :-)

Hmm...  What depth are you running?  AFAIR, hw acceleration is only
supported at 16bpp on Voodoo3 cards.

Have you read what's on http://dri.sf.net/ ?  I'd generally recommend you
ti do it, if you still not.
