I don't know why they never got into the trees, but we had to dig up a copy of
the docs a while ago and did manage to find them. I've attached them to this
message - perhaps someone with CVS access can put them into the tree for future
reference. (Unless anyone has a newer copy than the X11R5 proposed standard
version included here...)
