Hello Xperts, I am trying to setup a configuration with multiple VGA cards, each handled by an independent copy of XFree, so as to enable multiple local users of Linux. I've seen the page http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/multiuser/ and tried the patches.
I have succeeded partially. The biggest problems now are: - switching to a text console (on the primary server) hangs the machine - vmware hangs the machine when switching to fullscreen And when I say hang, I mean total, complete hang requiring the Big Red Button (well, it's blue in my case...). It seems that the multiple VGA cards are not completely separated in the X servers - I've seen I/O access on ports 0x3B0 etc... Is there any progress in this field? Is this being worked on? Is there any relevant information available that I should know of? The cards that I use are nvidia TNT2's, five of them on one PCI bus. (And a VANTA on AGP, but I'd be willing to throw that out if the different bus is a problem.) Thanks for any information!
