I have good news today. Matthias Clasen found the original xscope author,
James L. Peterson. I exchanged a few email messages and he sent me a
version of xscope with the MIT license.
I've made his version available at
http://keithp.com/~keithp/download/xscope.tar.gz
I have an older version that I added support for a variety of extensions
available in my CVS repository, which can be located through
http://keithp.com. That version has the wrong licenses in each of the
files from James.
I'd like to get xscope into the XFree86 distribution, but we need to
collect all of the various versions that are out there and merge them
together.
Please let the list know if you've got other xscope fixes available or have
an interest in helping merge these things together.
