kernel: tried on both original 2.4.18 and 2.4.19.-pre-rc2
X: xfree86 4.2 (even tried latest CVS Gatos drivers compiled by me)
XFree86 log file doesn't contain any warning(WW) messagess
card: ATI Radeon 7500 64MB DDR
mb chipset: Intel's i815
PROBLEMS:
1) whenever X-server starts it sends monitor in "suspend" state - i.e.
monitor losts signal from card for a few secs than restores it's state to
"normal" and all works ok including acceleration. it's very annying and i
coldn't figure out where stacks problem :-( Any idea ?
2) even if i specify HorizSync&VertRefresh in monitor section of
XFree86Config file X-server ignores them and uses detected VESA parameters
so my highest vertical refresh rate is 85Hz although monitor is capable to
display 1024x765 in 120Hz (Flatron H:30-96kHz, V:50-160Hz). Is possible to
get higher refresh rates ?
I'd appreciate some help or hint
