Subject: Trident driver colour distortion problems
Date: Sat, 24 Aug 2002 20:40:35 +0100

Eich,

I've just installed 4.2.0 on my FreeBSD 4.6 Release box from the
binaries using Xinstall.sh etc. It has a Trident 3DImage975 with 4Mb.
Depth 8 is fine, Depth 24 leads to colour distortion. I noticed your
post about the 9397 back in March and wondered if it's the same
problem. It looks as if it's using an 8-bit false colour palette in
24-bit mode. If you have time, I'd appreciate a pointer to some more
info. or any solutions you've found.

Cheers,

James

You've got some unusual
ideas that may not be
popular with the status
quo, but don't
let that prevent
you from
discussing them.
It's
always a good idea to distinguish
yourself as
a free-thinker. Otherwise, authority
figures will think you're prone to
manipulation. Contrary to what others may
think, you do have a
right to your
own opinion.
