Hi,

I have just upgraded my X to the newest CVS and was delighted to see
the much improved i830 driver. It works much better now, thanks!
However I do encounter some wird problems with the mouse cursor.
If I choose SWcursor - it is fine, though no DRI :(
If I choose HWcursor - the cursor does not show up at all. But - in
the applications which set their own cursor (e.g. Eterm 0.9.1) it is
visible, but I guess it is not surprising since it is equivalent to
software cursor. But, if I switch to a lower resolution, the cursor
comes back, and stays visible even after switching back to the higher
resolution.
Also - it seems that after X server terminates, it does not free the
kernel module, which prevents consequent X servers from running. Also
the kernel module cannot be un(re)loaded, insmod saying the resource is
busy (even though no X-related process is running).
Since the driver got a major rewrite, I will ask the questions I asked
some time ago: is there any chance of enabling 1400x1050 graphics mode?
It is not returned as a valid mode by the VESA BIOS, so it would
probably need a hard-wired code in the driver. Also - what about the
TV-Out capability?
Note: I am running custom-compiled latest CVS X on an i830M laptop (HP
Pavilion N5495) in 1280x1024 resolution. I can supply more info if
needed.
