Hi,

When I close the lid on my Dell Inspiron 4150 and reopen the X display
is garbled. As usual with this type of problem switching to a virtual
term. before closing lid and back to X fixes this - however, not
remembering to do this (as I usually do) is a problem.

Interestingly this is not a problem if I suspend to RAM or suspend to
disk (using swsusp) so I guess that it is the lid shut key not
triggering the correct action to the power management features in X
(maybe?).

My system is

Dell Inspiron 4150, Intel mobile P4 1.9 GHz (OK so its a flash new
machine)
Graphics: ATI Radeon M7 (16Mb)
RedHat 7.3, XFree86 4.2.0 (as standard with redhat install)
using radeon driver dpms option included
Xlog shows everything OK and "Open APM successful"
Am running apmd (but nothing special setup in it)

Thanks,

Martin
