Thanks, Bruce, but it does not seem to help on my system. No
indication in the log that the option was even there. Are you
running CVS drivers or 4.2.1?

FWIW, I am on an IBM ThinkPad T30 running FreeBSD Stable with XFree86
4.2.1 and ati and radeon drivers built from CVS in about September to
fix the line drawing problem seen when minimizing or rapidly moving a
window.
