XQuartz 2.7.7 is out, and it's exactly the same as 2.7.7_rc2. Note that I just recently became aware of an issue with the auto-updater. If you see a prompt which states "This update is locked and requires a password," please just hit enter without a password. This is a bug in Sparkle which will be fixed in XQuartz 2.7.8_beta2 or later (by updating to Sparkle 1.6.1). Sorry for any confusion.
