I'm no export, but if you're using Xvnc there are two points of authentication.
Xrdp would check your password, if valid, would create a vnc password file for
Xvnc to use, then launch Xvnc and connect using that password. There may be an
issue/bug with the version of Xvnc and the password you're using, try a
different length, or limit to alpha- numeric , for a test. Hope this help!

Subject: [Xrdp-devel] Need a little help

I have been using XRDP to connect to my Ubuntu desktop behind my corporate
firewall from my Mac laptop. So far the product has performed excellently …
Thanks! My company requires us to change our passwords every 90 days. I was
connected to my desktop via SSH and used passwd to change my password. This
password works fine other than when I try to used XRDP. If I type in the old
password, I get the following in my connection log …

sesman connect ok
sending login info to sesman
login failed

If I supply the new password I get the following in my connection log …

sesman connect ok
sending login info to sesman
login successful for display 10
start connecting
connection to 127.0.0.1 5910
tcp connected
security level is 2 (1 = none, 2 = standard)
password failed
error – problem connecting

For now I have changes my password back to the old one and the connection is
working, however, I will be required to change my password in 3 days and after
that I will not be able to use remote desktop anymore unless this error is
fixed.

Can you please help me!
