Hello, I would create in select list an empty value, and assign this value as the default value for the xml data associated to the select list. Another option is to assign a value of select list that is not an empty value as default value.
The blank row that appears to you and then disappears I think is because the value of the xml data associated to the select list is empty but it isn't a empty value in select list.
