I'm 51 and only did my first crossstitch 5 years ago. My mom did her first at
79 after she saw mine. We both have done all other kind of needlecraft but I
was always afraid to try counted crossstitch - looked hard to me! Now I just
wish I had started before my eyes required such strong magnification. It is
amazing how much stash I have acquired in these 5 years. If I were to stitch 6
hours a day for the rest of my life I'd never finish all I have. And of course
I still buy. I'm not even sure why I picked up that first piece - a
hummingbird light switch cover in aida. This piece shows how much I learned on
that first piece as the first 1/2 has a very messy back and the second 1/2
looks clean.
This list has really taught me a lot and kept me inspired.
