I started stitching in 1981. Went to visit my sister in Omaha. I was
watching her stitch. I thought I could do that. Nothing to it . Right? She
got a phone call, so I thought I would help her out. lol I proceeded to do
some stitching for her. When she came back, she yelled! What did you do? I
had the crosses going every which way. She then showed me a green shamrock
that she did when she first learned. It was awful, the stitches were like
mine, every which way. Then she did the shamrock the correct way. What a
difference! It was beautiful. So after that she gave me floss and a pattern
and some aida cloth. I haven't stopped stitching yet. Now I am giving her
lessons,because I have ventured into different fibers and fabrics, and also
other stitches. She is still doing cross stitch.
