On the other list I belong to, we have a team of administrators. They each
take a week and for that week do the "adminny" things - help listers
unsubscribe, keep an eye on the topics, process new lister applications (we
had lots of problems in the past so now new listers go through an
"application" process - pretty much a rubber stamp but it is a process of
some sort), and just generally keep an eye on things. There are 1200 list
members on that list, and it can get *very* heated, so they also step in
when things get too bad, and if necessary, put people on probation or kick
them off. But, to get back to my original thought, what exactly would it
take if we had a team of admins (say four or five) and rotated weeks like
that? I know there's other stuff involved, but we *could* keep this list going.
I know I don't post a lot, but I've learned a lot from reading - and on the
days when I don't have time, I just sort of skim through quickly. This is a
great list - surely somehow, someway we can keep this going?
