Yeah, I'm inclined to agree--things are still changing pretty quickly, so getting it included in the next release might be a bit optimistic. I don't really follow Emacs development too closely; besides getting the copyright assignments sorted out, what else is involved in getting code into Emacs? Are the developers generally happy to include stuff, or would we need to argue that xtla is worth including? At any rate, I'm happy to do the copyright assignment at any time.
