i think derivatives should use their own palette and same ubuntu stuff.

same icons - different palette
same wallpaper - different palette + logo (eventually)

it seems it'll be even possible to use css on scalable icon themes ...
and this will help very much (i hope for dapper +1)

My idea would be to take ubuntu|edubuntu artworks and fix them with
xubuntu color scheme ...


It is not completely clear what you are saying but if you mean creating a mish-mash desktop that wouldn't be very elegant.
