I tried to stick to the spirit of the old logo while still making it look a little 3d and glossy.
Whatever logo will be selected for prime-time, I'm sure we can include all the other artwork that has been done for edgy in the CD in one way or another.

Hi all,
In case, someone wants to experiment with the new logo, it can be
downloaded from here.
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/XubuntuEdgySpecs
You can find two versions there.
Probably everyone knows how to install it but in case not, replace the
text.png in the /usr/share/gdm/themes/xubuntu folder with the new
logo.
If you want to increase the size of the logo up slightly the hight
percentage in the xubuntu.xml logo session. On my machine 17% look
about right.
