I was thinking something more along the lines of having like 3 different
install choices:
simple (with a package such as xubuntu-desktop-easy)
average (with a package such as xubuntu-desktop)
ultra-light (with a package such as xubuntu-desktop-ultralight)
simple would be comprised of the most user-friendly (though not necessarily the
lightest) packages designed for newbies
average would be comprised of mix of easy and light programs...much like it is
now...designed for more experienced users
ultra-light would be comprised of only the lightest possible applications and
designed for the advanced user
Please note.... this type of change (should) be rather easy... one line added
in the install process (from the user POV much easier then that annoying
auto-detect keyboard debacle) where the installer is told which xubuntu-desktop
package to install (and thus the depended software)
Just an idea

Is it possible to have a choice during install?
Perhaps we could add something to the Welcome Center that points out
alternatives so some of the default software and notes their advantages?
