Yes, Ubuntu has a DVD edition, available through amazon.com and from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/6.10/release/

Edubuntu, starting with Feisty, will also have a DVD edition:
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/edubuntu/dvd/current/

These DVDs, I think, are basically the entire official repository, with
both live and alternate installers. They are not intended to replace the
cds, and there was a recent discussion on ubuntu-dev about whether
Ubuntu should be shipped as a dvd (for space reasons) where it was
decided, for the time being, that Ubuntu should continue to stick to the
one cd formula.
